Rain – update
August 9th, 2010And for today
June 22nd, 2010Here’s the opening to a new chapter.
A single word can change history: a dark command whispered on the wind. The response of the recipient and how they interpret that command can change the face of a nation forever. Such have been the ways of Accuson, the dark lord. He who fell like lightning from the heaven cast down by the host of heaven’s armies for his betrayal. He who believed himself equal to The One who lead a third of the heavenly host in rebellion paid the price with exile, never again would he or any of his followers set foot in heaven again. Accuson would wander to and fro throughout the earth looking for souls to devour with his false promises and silken words. Oh how he would promise the world to any that would bow their knee and worship him as the right and glorious king all the creation.
The minds of mortals and lesser beings could be bent with mere words, words that would become Accuson’s greatest weapon. For with just a few simple words he could turn a heart toward evil, teach it pride and self pity, teach a heart to hate and you have a slave for life. The promise of glory becomes self fulfilling as hatred leads to lust and lights the unquenchable fire of self destruction.
Outward appearances are but masks to hide the inner turmoil of the battlefield that is the mind. There are those who do not hide their true selves behind a myriad of deceptions but even they wage war between heart and mind. No one can fully resist the words of Accuson that carry on the wind like honey blossom, how sweat they taste in the mouth but to the heart they are a slow poison that gradually erodes the soul.
Worth a read if you can’t get pubished
June 16th, 2010Making Time
November 3rd, 2009It can be a slow old process, writing and all of its associated peculiarities. Often we make excuses for not having enough time for writing when the truth is that we just give time to other things – like TV. If we really want to do anything at all then we will. It’s all about choices and following them through. We do it all the time. I had a friend once who never had money for anything but then took two expensive holidays and bought a new car, so he did have money just not for most things. I once stood in queue behind a young mother who had asked the cashier for a bottle of booze and some cigarettes before she pondered he remaining finances with a a hefty sigh before resigning to the fact that she could afford nappies for her infant after all. It’s all a matter of priorities – isn’t it?
